Dirty water flows out of Dabolim airport wall into nullah

Vasco: Mormugao deputy collector Gaurish Sankhwalkar inspected the area outside Dabolim airport following complaints of dirty water flowing from the airport into a nullah besides NH 17-B. Sankhwalkar said, Airports Authority of India would be issued a notice within 24 hours for creating a nuisance in a public place and more inspections would follow.
Locals allege that for over a month dirty water has been continuously flowing out of a pipe emerging from the airport's new retaining wall and emptying into a nullah.
"I will instruct Vasco health officer to inspect the area and submit a detailed report on this. The water is very dirty," Sankhwalkar said. Food items could be seen in the water.
