Dubai passenger carrying 600 grams gold held

Hyderabad: The crackdown by customs officials seems to have little impact on gold smugglers. The latest arrest of a passenger at the RGI Airport on Monday while he was carrying 600 grams of gold worth Rs 18 lakh from Dubai shows the audacity of smugglers.
Customs sleuths nabbed the 35-year-old smuggler who landed here from Dubai by an Emirates flight (EK 528) on Monday night. The accused opted for green channel at the customs check area suggesting that he did not have anything to declare.
