Flyer hides Rs 2 crore gold in pants, held

Mumbai: : A passenger, who flew into the city from Dubai, was arrested for allegedly smuggling gold worth Rs1.86 crore, on Wednesday. The accused, Ghariwal Jashvantlal, had tucked the gold into specially tailormade pockets of a belt strapped to the waist and worn under the trousers.
Jashvantlal, who reached the international airport by an early morning flight, had stashed four gold biscuits of 1kg each, pieces of gold and 12 biscuits each weighing 100gm, said officials of the air intelligence unit of the Customs department.
After disembarking, Jashvantlal headed straight to the washroom at the airport and concealed the gold in the pockets of his special belt.
