Gold worth Rs 6.14 lakh seized from Mangalore airport

Mangalore: Customs officials at the international airport here have seized 224.75 gms of gold, valued at Rs 6.14 lakh from a passenger who arrived here from Dubai.

Airport officials said the gold, in the form of silver paint-coated wires, was found hidden in the beading portion around the borders and edges of a laptop bag the passenger was carrying.

The passenger hailing from Mogralputhur in Kasaragod district of Kerala reached here by a flight yesterday, they said.
