7 flights diverted to Ahmedabad airport due to fog

Ahmedabad: As many as seven flights bound for Delhi, Jaipur and Bhopal were diverted to the city airport because of bad weather. Due to snowfall in the northern parts of country, there was fog over Delhi and Jaipur which had resulted in low visibility.

The flights which were diverted include Jet Airways' Mumbai-Delhi and Mumbai-Jaipur, Jetlite's Mumbai-Jaipur, Ahmedabad-Delhi and Mumbai-Bhopal, Indigo Airline's Mumbai-Delhi and Go Air's Mumbai-Jaipur.

All the flights had left for their respective destinations by evening after weather cleared in Jaipur, Delhi and Bhopal. The diversions were the first of the season.

In another development, two SpiceJet flights were delayed due to operational reasons on Tuesday. SpiceJet's Ahmedabad-Chennai flight carrying around 120 passengers scheduled for 5.55am left at 1.50pm after an eight-hour delay while SpiceJet's SG-15 Ahmedabad-Dubai was delayed by over five hours.
