Cloud seeding aircraft to land in Aurangabad by month-end

Aurangabad:  The aircraft hired by the state government for cloud seeding in the drought-hit Marathwada would land at Aurangabad on July 31.

After the forecasts pointed of deficient monsoon in Maharashtra, the government had recently decided to go for cloud seeding to create artificial rain in the drought-hit regions of Vidarbha and Marathwada.

Suhas Diwase, director of the state disaster management and rehabilitation cell, said some modifications are being made to the sprayers of the aircraft owned by Weather Modifications Private Ltd to yield maximum results while being deployed for cloud seeding.

Cloud seeding is set to be experimented in Marathwada anytime during the first half of August and depending on the results, further efforts would be carried out.
