CPI wants L K Advani to throw light on Kandahar hijack incident

With new disclosures made by former Chief of the Research and Analysis wing (RAW) A.S. Dulat on the 1999 Kandahar hijack incident, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D. Raja on Thursday said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran L K Advani, who was the deputy prime minister at that time, must throw light on the details of the episode.
“These are new revelations coming to the public domain. Even at that time there was a lot of criticism about the External Affairs Minister accompanying the terrorists to Kandahar and the way the whole crisis was handled,” said Raja.
Raja pointed out that there are many details coming into the public domain even with regard to Jammu and Kashmir.
“How Vajpayee and his party negotiated with the National Conference of Jammu and Kashmir headed by Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah,” he added.
