Traffic at Kangra airport increases threefold in 6 months

Dharmshala:  Records retrieved from the airport authority have shown that traffic at Kangra airport has been on the rise. Dharamshala is the home to Tibetans-in-exile and an international cricket stadium also exists here, In January, the total number of arrivals and departures at this airport were 66, and 2,479 passengers used this airport. And in June, the number of flights arriving and departing from here reached 184 and the passenger count increased to 8,372. Airport director Kuldeep Sharma said: "This airport has become the busiest airport in the state and functions better than those in Punjab. Airports at Amritsar and Chandigarh are pretty close in number of passengers while those at Ludhiana and Pathankot are lagging behind."
