UP Govt consent for Greater NOIDA airport yet to come

New Delhi: The civil aviation ministry may have cleared the proposal to have an airport at Jewar in Greater Noida but the Uttar Pradesh government has not yet approved the civil aviation ministry proposal for an airport at the proposed site.

Sources in the ministry of civil aviation informed that the state government is keen that the proposed airport comes up at Hirangaon in Firozabad district.

"No word or approval has come from the state government regarding the airport in Jewar. After the Akhilesh Yadav-government came to power in the state, they have been looking at Firozabad for the project," said a senior official, who did not wish to be identified.
