Thiruvananthapuram:The US-made Instrument Landing System (ILS), installed in the Thiruvananthapuram international airport to guide aircraft to precision landing will be subjected to trial run from Friday.The calibration of the ILS was carried out using the calibrating aircraft of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) that was rushed here following last Tuesday’s “near crash” of a Jet Airways flight from Doha, with 155 on board, when it was diverted from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram due to inclement weather.
