Air Odisha to hire 100 state youths

Bhubaneswar: Local carrier Air Odisha, which signed an agreement with the government to run flights within the state, said on Sunday that it would provide jobs to 100 youths of the state.

The carrier will start operations from November-end with a nine-seater aircraft. "We have decided to hire local people, who have expertise in the sector. We will require engineers, ground staff and pilots. For back and front office staff also, we will give preference to local people. Since it is a small aircraft, we will not have any airhostess," said Air Odisha founder Santosh Pani.

He added that according to the guidelines of Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), they have already given list of six pilots. "They are trained pilots and have the required flying hours. Four of them are from the state," said Pani.
